Acceptance of these terms
This website at horizoninjurylawyers.com (the “Site”) is published by [Horizon Injury Lawyers, P.C.] (“Horizon Injury Lawyers,” “the Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
These terms govern your use of the Site only. They do not govern any attorney–client relationship. If we agree to represent you, that relationship is governed exclusively by a separate written fee agreement signed by you and the Firm, and nothing on this page modifies or limits that agreement or our professional obligations to you.
Information only, not legal advice
Everything on the Site is general information about Massachusetts personal injury law. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from an attorney who has reviewed the facts of your situation.
Personal injury outcomes turn on specific facts: how an incident happened, what insurance coverage exists, what the medical record shows, what evidence survives, and which deadlines apply. General information cannot account for any of that. Do not act, or decide not to act, based on anything you read here.
Law changes. Court decisions, statutes, and regulations are revised over time, and we do not promise that content on the Site reflects the most recent developments or that it is complete, current, or accurate for your circumstances.
No attorney–client relationship
Using the Site does not make us your lawyers. Specifically, no attorney–client relationship is created by:
●reading, browsing, or downloading anything on the Site;
●submitting a contact form or case evaluation request;
●sending us an email, text message, or voicemail;
●using any chat feature on the Site;
●speaking with our staff during an initial intake call or free consultation.
We become your lawyers only when both of these have happened: we have reviewed your matter, checked for conflicts of interest, and agreed in writing to represent you; and you and the Firm have signed a written fee agreement. Until then, we have no obligation to take any action on your behalf, to preserve evidence, or to protect any legal deadline.
We reserve the right to decline any matter for any lawful reason, including a conflict of interest with a current or former client. Declining a matter is not a statement about its merit.
Confidentiality and deadlines
Do not send us confidential, privileged, or sensitive information through the Site until we have agreed in writing to represent you. Information you send before a relationship exists is generally not protected by the attorney–client privilege, and it may not be treated as confidential. It could also create a conflict that prevents us from representing you later.
Internet transmission is not secure. Email, web forms, chat, and text messages can be intercepted, misdirected, or stored by third parties. When you send us information by those means, you accept that risk.
Do not send us time-sensitive information through the Site. We do not monitor form submissions, email, chat, or voicemail continuously, and we do not guarantee that any message will be received, read, or answered within any particular time. Any statement on the Site about response times describes our practice, not a commitment.
Legal claims are subject to filing deadlines. In Massachusetts those deadlines vary by the type of claim and the identity of the defendant, and some notice requirements are far shorter than the general limitations period, particularly for claims involving public entities. A missed deadline can end a valid claim permanently. Do not rely on the Site, on an unanswered message, or on an initial conversation with our staff to protect a deadline. If you think you may have a claim, speak with a lawyer promptly.
Where we are licensed
Horizon Injury Lawyers is a Massachusetts law firm. Our attorneys are admitted to practice in Massachusetts and nowhere else unless specifically noted on an individual attorney's page.
The Site is accessible everywhere, but that does not mean we are authorized to practice law everywhere. We do not intend the Site to be a solicitation in any jurisdiction where it would not comply with that jurisdiction's laws or rules of professional conduct, and we do not seek to represent anyone whose matter would require us to practice law in a jurisdiction where we are not admitted. If you are outside Massachusetts, consult an attorney licensed where you are.
This website is attorney advertising under the Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct. The attorney responsible for its content is identified at the top of this page and in section 22.
Case results and testimonials
Any settlements, verdicts, awards, or other case results described on the Site are examples of outcomes in specific matters. They depend on facts unique to those matters, including liability, available insurance coverage, the severity of injuries, and the evidence developed.
Prior results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome in any other case. No attorney can promise a particular result, and nothing on the Site should be read as such a promise.
Where results are stated as gross recovery figures, the client's net recovery was lower after attorney's fees, case costs, medical liens, and other deductions.
Client reviews and testimonials on the Site reflect the experience of the individual clients who gave them. They are not a guarantee, warranty, or prediction of the outcome of your matter, and they may not represent the experience of every client. Testimonials are published with client permission and are not paid for.
Fees, costs, and expenses
We handle most personal injury matters on a contingent fee basis. That means we are paid an agreed percentage of any recovery, and we charge no attorney's fee if there is no recovery.
Attorney's fees and case costs are different things. Case costs can include court filing fees, deposition and transcript fees, expert witness fees, medical records charges, investigation costs, and similar expenses. Depending on the terms of your written fee agreement, you may remain responsible for costs and expenses even if your case does not result in a recovery. Any statement on the Site that there is no fee unless we win refers to attorney's fees and should be read together with this section.
Contingent fee arrangements in Massachusetts must be set out in a written agreement that complies with the Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct. The specific percentage, how it is calculated, how costs are handled, and how medical liens and subrogation claims are paid will be stated in your written fee agreement, which controls over anything on the Site. Read it before you sign it and ask us about anything that is unclear.
An initial case evaluation is free and creates no obligation on your part.
Contacting us electronically
When you give us your email address or phone number through the Site, you agree that we may contact you at that address or number about your inquiry, by email, phone call, or text message, including through automated systems.
Consent to receive calls or text messages is never a condition of hiring us or of any service we provide. You can withdraw it at any time: reply STOP to any text message, follow the unsubscribe instructions in any email, or tell us by phone or in writing. Our text messaging program is described separately in our SMS Terms of Service. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply.
Text messages and email are not secure channels. Do not use them to send confidential case information unless we have agreed in writing to represent you and have told you it is appropriate.
You agree that we may communicate with you electronically and that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing.
Automated chat and AI features
The Site may offer an automated chat assistant or similar tool that responds to questions and helps route inquiries to our staff. That tool is not a lawyer and does not give legal advice.
Automated responses can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. We do not guarantee their accuracy. Using the chat tool does not create an attorney–client relationship, and anything you type into it is not confidential or privileged. Do not enter information through it that you would not be willing to share publicly.
The chat tool is provided by a third-party vendor that processes what you submit under its own terms and privacy practices. If you do not agree to these conditions, do not use the feature.
Privacy
How we collect, use, and protect information you provide through the Site is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
Intellectual property
The Site and its contents, including text, page layouts, graphics, photographs, video, logos, and the selection and arrangement of all of it, are owned by Horizon Injury Lawyers or used under license, and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
You may view the Site and print or download individual pages for your own personal, non-commercial reference. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, frame, scrape, or create derivative works from any part of the Site without our prior written permission. Our name, logo, and any taglines are our trademarks and may not be used without permission.
If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice identifying the work, the material you say is infringing and where it appears, your contact information, and a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, to copyright@horizoninjurylawyers.com.
Acceptable use
When using the Site, you agree not to:
●use it for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms;
●submit false, misleading, or impersonated information, or information about another person without their authorization;
●use automated means to scrape, crawl, harvest, or copy content or contact information, or to collect data for training machine learning systems, except as permitted by our robots.txt file;
●send unsolicited commercial messages, advertising, or solicitations to the Firm or to any address obtained from the Site;
●attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, any related systems, or other users' data;v
●introduce malware, or take any action that interferes with the operation of the Site or places an unreasonable load on it;
●circumvent any security or access control measure.
We may restrict or block access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for conduct we believe violates this section.
Third-party links and content
The Site may link to websites we do not operate. We provide those links for convenience. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party sites, their content, their accuracy, or their privacy and security practices. Once you leave the Site, these terms no longer apply and the other site's terms do. Review them before providing any information.
Listings of the Firm in third-party directories, review platforms, and advertising networks are governed by those providers' terms, and we are not responsible for how they present information about us. 14
No warranties
The Site and all content on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and accuracy.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site or the servers that make it available are free of harmful components.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Horizon Injury Lawyers and its attorneys, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to your access to or use of the Site, your inability to use it, or any content on it, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other theory, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).
This section applies to the Site. It does not apply to legal services we provide to clients. See section 16.
What these terms do not limit
Sections 14, 15, and 17 apply only to your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits, waives, or disclaims:
●any duty or liability the Firm or any of its attorneys owes to a client in connection with legal services, including any liability for malpractice;
●any obligation under the Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct;
●liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Massachusetts law;
●any right you have under Massachusetts consumer protection law that cannot be waived by agreement.
If any provision of these terms would operate as a prospective limitation of malpractice liability to a client, that provision does not apply and is of no effect.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Horizon Injury Lawyers and its attorneys, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party in connection with the Site. This section does not apply to any claim arising from legal services we provide to you as a client.
Governing law and venue
These terms and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the Site are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
Any action relating to these terms or the Site must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. This section governs website disputes only; the forum for any dispute between the Firm and a client is addressed in the written fee agreement.
Accessibility
We want the Site to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology, and we work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. If you have trouble accessing anything on the Site, or if you need information in another format, contact us at (617) 765-2002 and we will work with you to provide what you need.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms at any time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Revised terms apply as soon as they are posted, and your continued use of the Site means you accept them. Check this page periodically.
We may also change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.
General provisions
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms of Service, are the entire agreement between you and the Firm regarding the Site, and they replace any earlier terms or disclaimers posted here. They do not supersede any written fee agreement between the Firm and a client, which controls in the event of a conflict.
You may not assign these terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of the practice.
Headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation.

These messages may concern your inquiry, consultation scheduling, appointment reminders, and, if you become a client, updates related to your case.
